![]() ![]() ![]() “ Sally ,” Diamond Life (1984): This allegory for the Salvation Army displays an artist determined from the start to be socially engaged, but also one who hasn’t yet found out how to do it without being a bit preachy.ħ2. So here are the 73 Sade songs, arranged from least best to best - or from minor pain relief to complete catharsis.ħ3. If anyone’s voice can keep its listeners from falling apart under personal and systemic stress, it’s hers. Her best songs hold out the possibility of a better world without concealing the grief that defines the present one. She is the exact and total opposite of everything ignorant, bigoted, intolerant, and cruel in the present. For more than with nearly any other artist, Sade’s music is an antidote to the pervasive fear, mistrust, insanity, and hatred of 21st-century life, and of the current moment especially. All the same, there are definitely better songs and worse songs, and we’ve taken the time to rank them - not out of frivolity, but out of necessity. Quality, for her, takes precedence over quantity: Not counting live albums, there are only 73 songs of hers, but none of them is bad. Her songs, it’s implied, are more than capable of representing her clearly. Troubled, like many great British artists, by the onset of fame and tabloid attention in particular, she chooses to lead a life away from the spotlight, and takes interviews only rarely. The passing of time and the infrequency of releases only magnify her legend the more. Rappers like Rick Ross and Drake, producers like Kanye West, singers like Beyoncé, metal bands like the Deftones all converge in their respect for Sade’s unquestionable integrity. No one has successfully copied her, but everyone in music adores her. Love Deluxe was followed, eight years later, by the mellow guitars of Lovers Rock after a ten-year hiatus to raise her child, there came Soldier of Love. Her voice is impeccably cool, yet somehow still conveys great passion and resolve she seems utterly convinced that to do justice to something is to love it fully, with a wisdom inseparable from responsibility. Though still related in tone to the American soul singers she was originally influenced by, the poise in Sade finds few parallels in other artists. Released 25 years ago today, Love Deluxe is the most consistent display of Sade’s unique mode of R&B: an underwater ambience conjured by keyboards, tastefully unobtrusive piano and drums, and thick, driving bass lines framing the singer’s evocations of love lost, maintained, and fallen into. Their best album, though, was yet to come. Her first album, 1984’s Diamond Life, met with a rapturous reception across continents, going four times platinum in both the United Kingdom and the United States following up on its success, Promise (1985) and Stronger Than Pride (1988) witnessed the band slowly deepening and refining a sound of its own, eventually drawing from jazz, funk, soul, pop, and rock in shifting but roughly equal measures. Sade soon became the main attraction at concerts, her voice drawing sold-out crowds together with three Pride members, she formed a self-titled band and signed with a major label. Moving to London to study fashion, her fledgling career as a designer and model, as well as any nascent literary aspirations, were put on hold after she found work as a backup singer with the soul band Pride. The daughter of a Nigerian father and English mother, Sade (full name Helen Folasade Adu) was born in her father’s country and raised, after the divorce, by her mother and her family in Essex, where she absorbed much of her grandparents’ Christian socialist beliefs. Yet given that her delivery is instantly recognizable and impossible to replicate, it’s something of a marvel that she almost missed out on singing altogether. Over a career spanning six albums and 33 years, the art of the singer, backed by her band, has never been anything less than inimitable. If Sade didn’t exist, no one could have invented her. ![]()

![]() It's unlikely we'll see Steve Rogers' Captain America again in the MCU - as least as his most popular form by Chris Evans. Old Captain America would still exist, as would his MCU life. That way, the most popular version of Captain America in the MCU could come back, while not impacting his final chapter. If the MCU wanted to bring back a younger Steve Rogers, they could include that he made some sort of arrangement with Strange to create his own temporal remnant - sacrificing a week of his life to be brought back under a certain circumstance, such as his death. While Strange's temporal remnant will try to solve his own murder in the comics, the plot device could work in bringing back Captain America to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The temporal remnant of Strange was made so he could deal with his affairs after dying. Strange created the temporal remnant as a contingency and precaution so that it could emerge should he die. He hid his temporal remnant away, keeping it a secret from everyone. In the issue, the younger Doctor Strange reveals many years ago he severed a week of his life from his own timeline - literally cutting it off his lifespan. In The Death of Doctor Strange #2 by Jed Mckay, Lee Garbett, Antonio Fabela, and VC's Cory Petit, a version of Doctor Strange from the past arrives in the present day to investigate his own death in the current timeline. Related: Why the Infinity Stones Changed Color (It Was Thanos' Fault) ![]() However, Marvel Comics just showed a way that he could return without ruining his perfect ending in the MCU. Ultimately, Steve went back in time, lived his life with Peggy, and ended up in the present day as an older man. After being frozen for decades, Captain America decided he wanted the chance to live the life that was stolen from him. In Avengers: Endgame, Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) returned the Infinity Stones to their proper places across time but decided to use the opportunity to live out his previously lost life with Peggy Carter. Hypothetically, the MCU could do the same with Steve Rogers. However, he created a temporal remnant of himself, taking a week off his own life to make a copy of himself from the past. But, if within your range, you'll find an extensive diagram creation tool that will serve you well in the foreseeable future with consistent updates. Similarly, Visio is very expensive for the average user, making it a weigh-up between pros and cons. Support is minimal, with no live chat making it challenging to find a solution to a problem. Despite this, it isn't without its faults or drawbacks. With a free 30-day trial, you can give the program a try and see if you can create your perfect designs. Visio stands out above the competition on sheer capability and presentation. The desktop version is where you will find the full toolkit Visio has to offer, and while it can be intimidating to start with, the interface does a great job at showcasing each feature with ease. While this version doesn't include the full extensively of the Visio tool kit, it does provide an excellent place for users that move around a lot. ![]() Visios web version is the easiest to use, and we would hazard a guess that almost everyone will find it accessible and straightforward. However, we were pleasantly surprised to find that Visio's interface is incredibly user-friendly, with an interface that closely resembles that of Microsoft Word. It's not uncommon for tools that market towards businesses to have a less than user-friendly interface. Users can connect their designs to excel, word, and more, increasing productivity and streamlining their tool use. Finally, Visio wouldn't be a Microsoft product without Microsoft 265 integration. This connection allows users to integrate their real-time sources, ensuring that flow charts or diagrams data is automatically updated as new information comes in, saving significant time going back and forth changing information.Īdditionally, Visio's web app enables users that consistently use different devices to access their designs from their desktop and other web versions. ![]() Visio has pre-emptively covered this with their real-time data connection. Yet, managing analytical data can become a nightmare, even with collaboration tools in place. Once the team is in place, everyone can work together to create beautifully designed diagrams. Collaboration can also be added using their in-tool comment feature, allowing teams to communicate with one another on the document itself, rather than using third-party communication tools. Visio sets the bar high with its collaboration tools, enabling multiple team members to work on the same document and design simultaneously, even if they're using different devices. Microsoft are known for their team collaboration features, and Visio is no different. These tools give you the flexibility to hone in on your diagrams in ways other tools can't provide, which can be invaluable when delivering an important presentation at work, school, or elsewhere. Switching views, angles, and manipulating visibility allows you to draw attention to specific data when you need to get technical in your presentation. For those that want to go the extra step and create something bespoke, Visio enables you to do that by offering multiple shapes, styles, and functions, which includes flowchart creation. Users gain access to a wide range of pre-assembled templates that can be used to give a quick start to any new diagram. Organizing complex or technical data in an easy-to-understand format is often tricky, but with Visio, you can create something that everyone can understand. Visio provides extensive functionality to anyone looking to create detailed presentations that need that extra flair in the form of a diagram. ![]() While Microsoft Visio is marketed towards businesses, the tool offers many uses for professionals or content creators. ![]() ![]() ![]() Hard mode that offers hours and hours of extra gameplay!Īdd and combine gems to make your minions even more powerful! In my case, I was the Prodigal Daughter, enjoying a materialistic ‘Godless’ existence as a lawyer in Tokyo, New York and Hong Kong. My story is like that of the profligate Prodigal Son in the Bible who, after squandering his inheritance, returns to his father for forgiveness and finds that he is not scorned but is welcomed back with open arms and heartily celebrated with the fatted calf! It was a long period of 50 years in my self-inflicted ‘wilderness’ before I was able to find and return to God, and when I did, I received not only His forgiveness but the full bounty of His love – endless, unconditional and life-changing. ![]() ![]() The same goes for the cast – especially Dylan O’Brien and impressive franchise newcomers Jacob Lofland and Rosa Salazar. There’s a sense that he’s got a brilliant blockbuster in him, but this definitely isn’t it. We’d like to see what he could do with a better script. Despite a couple of moments where the action becomes unfollowable, Ball largely does well. He wrangles some tense chase sequences and engineers one big jump scare. Here Wes Ball has great fun framing the action. In the scorch, we enter horror movie territory for a few scenes. ![]() There are couple of saving graces, though. In The Scorch Trials, there’s none of that. In a great trilogy, this is where the character material would take centre stage, heightening our investment before the big showdown in part three. The kids can’t defeat anyone, or even learn anything, because all that presumably happens in the next film. This is second-in-a-trilogy syndrome, and not at its best – nothing really happens because nothing is allowed to happen. You feel like the writers are biding their time before bringing all the goodies and baddies back together at the end, and even that culminates in nothing more than a demand for viewers to come back next time. Instead, we’re given a string of largely unrelated set pieces as the script flounders around. Here, you’d hope, the story might pick up. They try their best with a small selection of shoehorned jokes, but there’s not the snappy verbal sparring you might hope for with this many talented actors on display.Īfter spending about half an hour in Janson’s compound, the youngsters end up in ‘the scorch’ – the barren outside world, a place full of disease and desperation. As a result, this impressive young cast struggles to rustle up any chemistry. Instead of talking, they tend to shout ‘run!’ or each other’s names, and don’t really interact in any other way. Meanwhile, everyone else is moaning and groaning. This leads to a handful of fun moments as Gillen hams up his performance as much as possible. He gives them a good telling off when they don’t do what they’re told. Gillen plays his leather-jacket-wearing character like a forlorn teacher on a school trip – he tells the kids when to eat and when to go to bed. The surviving inhabitants of The Glade are helicoptered to a standard-issue sleek young adult sci-fi facility (see: The Hunger Games’ training locations, Kate Winslet’s base from Insurgent), where Aiden Gillen’s villain Janson quickly starts acting a bit shifty. The story picks up exactly where The Maze Runner left it. We may keep our suggestions to ourselves in the future. Sadly, though, this results in some equally tough-to-follow scenes where the torches keep flashing down the camera lens. Our recommendation? That for the sequel the cast carry some torches. One of our problems with the first film was it was sometimes hard to see what was going on. If there’s one thing to be happy about regarding The Maze Runner’s sequel, The Scorch Trials, it’s that the filmmaking powers-that-be pretty much literally lightened things up. ![]() ![]() ![]() Just go into sneak mode and start looting. Luckily you don't actually need to learn any thief skills to start looting everything not nailed down. Most importantly, Xardas is in a tower in Nordmar.Įarning gold basically comes down to being a good thief and hunting and skinning animals in the beginning. Lester is in the desert by a pyramid or something. Diego is in one of the towns in the desert. Gorn is near Gotha and there is some tough combat when you go see him so be prepared. But the hunting skills and thief skills will give you a nice boost early on. This is one of those games where money stops being an issue partway through. The more you explore the richer you will get. Gold: This game is really massive and full of stuff to sell. Your main goal for the first part of the game is to find Xardas in Nordmar. It will probably be pretty tough though and there are no goals for you there early on. Its ok if you liberated Cape Dun, but dont do any more yet, until you actually know what is happening with the story.Įxploring: I would stay in Myrtana for the first part of the game but I guess it wouldnt hurt to visit the desert early. I don't know why they made the game like this. And there is plenty of game left after you make your decision. As you might expect, its hard to finish the game like this. ![]() The reason is because once you have done like 3 big decisions then you are locked in to that path and you can't do any quests for the other factions anymore. Then at the very end come back and make your decisions. Instead move on to the next town and do their quests. Go around to each town and do everything you can up until they ask you to make a big decision (like liberating the town, or crushing the nearby resistance base). Basically just play it like early gothic game. Other than that, feel free to level up whatever utility skills you want, as you get plenty of LP to spend.Įarly quests: Anything you can do that will give xp. Smithing is kinda mediocre in the base game but improved a lot with the community patch which you should be playing with. The alchemy 'permanent upgrade potions' is so good its basically mandatory if you are min maxing at all. Thief skills are a lot of fun, you can stop at difficult locks for early game. Other skills: Learn Quickly is obviously good to take early if you play a caster but not essential if you are mostly melee. If you pick up some magic I highly recommend crowd control spells like bloodlust, summon skeleton, time bubble. If you arent using the alternative balancing mod, then you have plenty of LP to experiment and branch out. It's not very hard to build a good character in this game, just get what sounds obviously good. Just make sure you eventually get all the perks for your style and you level up the stat for your style as well. There isnt a huge difference in effectiveness between 1h/2h/dual wield so just go for whatever you want (though, my favorite is 1h/shield for humans with a 2h for animals). I have the Ardea, Reddock & Cape Dun teleporter stones.Ĭombat skills: All the combat perks for whatever combat style you're going for, and the relevant stat (strength/hunting skill/ancient knowledge). Everything else has been standard fetch quests so far - can't find the goods missing from the orc warehouse in Cape Dun. I recall he goes somewhere specific, but can't remember where.Īre there any recommended quests at the start to pursue, to get one started? I've done the arena in Cape Dun and Reddock and also cleared out the patrols near Reddock, plus cleaned the mines. Where did Gorn & the others go? I don't really want to google and ruin the exploration, but I was told to talk to him and he's not in Ardea anymore. Is there any real issue with me exploring further afield at the start? I have one extra memory that is of the desert to the south, and I'd like to revisit it to see if it triggers any more recollections. How does one get the gold required for training? Training is crazy expensive, and short of murdering all the orcs in Cape Dun again, I'm not sure how to generate any meaningful capital. I'm wandering around doing quests (very enjoyable so far, none of that silly Oblivion/Skyrim quest marker rubbish), so I'm not especially looking for direction per se - rather some tips & tricks.Īre there any 'must-have' skills? I could probably boost strength so I can use better weapons, for example. That said, I'm a bit lost regarding what to do - I have about 70 unspent learning points (I haven't actually used any yet) and am still using the starting equipment. Beyond some hazy memories of murdering all the orcs in Cape Dun and selling their shit at Reddock, I don't have any baggage to prevent me from experiencing this 'fresh'. I first played G3 about 10 years ago, but couldn't really run it so gave up. ![]() ![]() ![]() For example, you can send connection codes to your customers and employees, which they enter on a website or a link to get remote support.
